Sapphire cabochon: Measuring approximately 14 x 10mm, of a medium light tone of uniform, very slightly violetish blue colour, medium good clarity. The sapphire exhibits a faint star seen at the top centre of the gem. It is Dupuis' opinion that there is no detectable indication of heat treatment. It is Dupuis' opinion that features found in the sapphire are consistent with features found in sapphires known to have originated in Sri Lanka.
