The Speedmaster 145.012-67 with orange hand was nicknamed ‘Ultraman’ after it was featured in 1971 in the Japanese TV series of the same name created by Eiji Tsuburaya. The interest and rarity of this model prompted Omega in 2018 to present a reiteration of the original watch, in a modern edition called the 'Ultraman’ Speedy Tuesday’.

This current lot was delivered to its owner in Italy, in 1968. It has recently been authenticated by Omega and is accompanied by a 'Certificate of Authenticity'. Only a very small number of the original ‘Ultraman’ watches have been identified and remain in circulation. While the orange hand was replaced during the course of servicing by Omega, it remains that this is one of the rare iterations of the original reference 145.012-67 delivered with an orange hand, that can be identified as ‘Ultraman’. This presents a rare opportunity for collectors of unique vintage watches.

The watches have not been tested to verify accuracy. Dupuis does not guarantee ongoing operation of movements; it is suggested that timepieces receive routine service.
