Designed as a dragonfly, featuring two oval demantoid garnets weighing approximately 2.30 carats, smaller demantoid garnets weighing approximately 2.80 carats, old-cut diamonds weighing approximately 1.55 carats, and ruby eyes, in silver and 18k gold, numbered 2391

In good condition. The brooch fitting can be unscrewed and removed. The principal two demantoids, of a vivid yellowish green colour, both exhibiting classic "horsetail" inclusions, desired in fine demantoids from the classic Ural mountain location. It is not proven, but based on the quantity of demantoids and the age of the brooch, it is very possible that the demantoids are from the classic Ural Mountain location. The diamonds G-H colour, mostly SI clarity. Width 2 1/4 inches (56 mm).
