fashioned as a course of forty-four diamond collets between diamond quartet batons, altogether the diamonds weighing approximately 9.65 carats, in platinum, length 22 inches ...According to family tradition, this necklace was worn by Aileen M. Hilliard Bingham to the 1937 coronation of King George VI in London, England. Her husband, Judge Robert Worth Bingham, the patriarch of the prominent Louisville, Kentucky empire, was Franklin Roosevelt's ambassador to England from 1933 until his passing in 1937.
