Lot 66: An Antique Opal, Emerald and Diamond Pendant, circa 1890

The floral wreath design centering an oval opal measuring 25.0 mm by 18.5 mm by 15.4 mm, surrounded by old mine-cut diamond florets and cushion-shaped emeralds, with hinged bail, mounted in silver and 18k gold

- weight 14.8 g
- height 1 7/8 ins, width 1 3/8 ins
- opal with white body colour with scattered flashes of predominantly yellow and orange, with very slight flashes of blue
- emeralds total approx 2.10 cts, of a medium green with good clarity
- diamonds total approx 1.40 cts, I-K/VS-I1, one diamond deficient
- with some minor crazing on the opal and noticeable tarnishing of the silver, otherwise in good condition
