Lot 117: An Antique Natural Pearl Necklace, circa 1900

The single strand comprising 122 pearls graduated from 9.0 mm to 3.4 mm, and joined to a platinum clasp centering an emerald-cut emerald between a pair of old European-cut diamonds, length 27 1/2 ins


With report 2155016025 dated 11 October 2012 from the Gemological Institute of America stating predominantly natural pearls, saltwater origin

- pearls of medium to strong cream colour, moderate to very bright lustre, off-round to semi-baroque, light to moderate spotting
- emerald measuring 6.40 x 4.60 x 2.10 mm, approx weight 0.40 ct, a medium light tone of very slightly bluish green, moderately included, it is Dupuis opinion that the country of origin is Colombia
- total approx diamond weight 0.65 ct, I-J/SI1 plus one is chipped below the girdle.
- in good overall condition, with normal wear
