Lot 69: An Antique Sapphire and Diamond Ring, circa 1910

Centering an oval sapphire weighing approximately 2.10 carats, between pear-shaped bezels set with a pair of old European-cut diamonds together weighing approximately 1.85 carats, further decorated with small old mine-cut diamonds and calibré-cut sapphires, mounted in platinum

- size 6
- oval sapphire measuring approximately 8.05 x 6.10 x 5.00 mm, approx 2.10 cts, of a medium tone of bright very slightly violetish blue, lightly to moderately included (colour zoning), abraded facet junctions, it is Dupuis' opinion that there is no gemmological evidence of thermal enhancement
- 2 old European-cut diamonds approx 0.85 ct and 1.00 ct, I-J colour, SI2 clarity
- small diamonds total approx 0.45 ct, H-I colour, SI-I1 clarity, including a brilliant-cut (replacement), and several with chips under magnification
- overall condition: good with moderate wear
