Lot 466: A Magnificent Antique Diamond and Natural Pearl Corsage Brooch

The extra long articulated trailing floral branch elaborately designed with a looping ribbon suspending graduated flower blossoms, each centering an old mine-cut diamond amid pavé-set petals and diamond-set leaves, further accented by a natural pearl drop measuring approximately 13.5 mm by 9.0 mm, each segment detachable to be worn individually, the diamonds altogether weighing approximately 45.00 carats, mounted in silver and gold, total length 315 mm, mid 19th century
With copy of report 2183256642 dated 24 March 2017 from the Gemological Institute of America stating natural pearl, saltwater origin.

Weight: 107.7 grams
There are eight parts, with a total length of 315mm long (12.40 inches)
Pearl: medium cream colour, medium lustre, pink and blue-green overtones, drop shape, slightly concave top, drilled only at the top
Principal diamonds: approximately 2.10 carat, 1.75 carat, 0.70 carat, 0.55 carat, J-M colour, SI1-SI2 clarity
Accent diamonds: H-M colour, VS1-I1 clarity
In good condition, with wear commensurate with age
