Lot 139: A Pair of Long Cultured Pearl Necklaces, Secrett, circa 1965

The two long continuous strands comprising 198 cultured pearls measuring 8.5-8.9 mm, with a hinged slender silver gilt connector, detachable to wear the necklaces separately, length 36 inches and 37 inches
Property from the estate of the notable literary Robertson Davies family, by descent.

Cultured pearls: A medium strong yellow cream colour, very bright lustre, pink and green overtones, moderate spotting, thick to very thick nacre coating, pink and green overtones, round to slightly off-round shape, good matching

These two cultured pearl necklaces were a gift from famed Canadian publisher, author, and scholar, Robertson Davies, to his beloved wife Brenda. They were given on their 25th wedding anniversary and Mrs Robertson Davies wore them with pleasure and enjoyed them deeply.
