Alexandrite: Colour change: A medium tone of yellowish bluish green colour in daylight, and slightly brownish pinkish purple in incandescent light. Lightly included, very good clarity.
While the origin of this particular alexandrite is not known, the history of alexandrite dates to the 19th Century in Russia when a gem was discovered with a colour change that happened to show the Russian national colours; red and green, and it was named after the prince, Alexander.
