Lot 291: An Antique Diamond, Silver and Gold Brooch, circa 1860

Designed as a curving wheat sheaf with knife-edge borders and flowing ribbon sashes and leaves, accented by old mine-cut diamonds, mounted in silver and 14k gold

Dimensions: 75 mm long
Weight: 10.5 grams
Diamonds: total estimated weight of 3.80 carats, G-H colour, SI-I1 clarity
Possibly was originally part of a tiara or hair ornament
Good condition, the pin at the reverse joined to the brooch by a screw has been soldered (no longer removable)
