Hammer Price
$28,000 CAN

Fashioned with a pair of large emerald drops weighing approximately 55.00 carats, from rose-cut diamond caps, suspending from tendril vines and leaves decorated by old mine-cut diamonds, mounted in silver and 14k gold, joined to later added 10k white gold tops

Dimensions: 18 x 51 mm
Weight: 16.3 grams
Emeralds: each measuring approximately 24.0 x 13.5 mm; A medium light tone of uniform green colour, moderately to noticeably included. It is Dupuis' opinion that features found in the emeralds are consistent with features found in emeralds known to have originated in Colombia
Backings: later added screw-back type (suitable for non-pierced ears)
The emerald drops are detachable
The 10k white gold tops are not antique
These jewels were described by the consignor as having a family history with heritage connected to Hungarian nobility, by descent. The consignor has stated that these antique jewels belonged to Countess Maria Andrassy Kresna Horka of Hungary. While we do not have any provenance to draw the connection, the jewels are antique, beautiful, and make a wonderful statement.
