Lot 99: An Antique Diamond, Ruby, Silver and Gold Brooch, Fabergé, circa 1895

The petite openwork oval form applied with rose-cut diamond Roman numerals, XXV, accented by bars of rubies and a pair of old mine-cut diamonds, the reverse inscribed: Aug. 8 1871-1896, with Fabergé Cyrillic signature, mounted in silver and gold, Russian 56 zolotnik standard mark, with fitted Wartski box

Dimensions: 30 x 23 mm
Weight: 10.3 grams
Two principal diamonds total estimated weight: 0.30 carat
Rubies: Of a medium tone of strong pinkish red colour, good clarity, good cut, good matching. It is Dupuis' opinion that the rubies show no indication of heating. It is Dupuis' opinion that features found in the rubies are consistent with features found in rubies known to have been found in Myanmar (formerly Burma).
In good condition with normal signs of age, one of the ruby bars moves slightly, two tiny diamonds deficient, no noticeable damage or repair
This brooch commemorates a 25th anniversary
