In the late 19th Century and early 20th Century, women around the world were looking for voting rights, and these Suffragettes sometimes wore ribbons and jewels that symbolized their demand for equality in voting rights. These jewels featured colours Green, White, and Violet, the first letters representing the first letters of the demand; "Give Women Votes". This could be a Suffragette jewel.
