Lot 6: An Antique Pearl, Diamond and Platinum Necklace, circa 1920

The double strands comprising 178 pearls graduated from 6.4 mm to 3.4 mm, joined to a navette-shaped clasp centering an old mine-cut diamond weighing approximately 0.95 carat, accented by smaller diamonds, in platinum, length 14 3/4 inches, pearls not tested for natural origin

Old mine-cut diamond measuring 5.60 x 5.85 x 4.17 mm, M/N colour, SI2 clarity
Pearls of a medium cream colour, bright lustre, mixed pink and green overtones, off-round shape, good matching. It is Dupuis' opinion that the majority of pearls do not exhibit evidence of bead nucleation.
