Lot 7.05: Pertabghar Enamel and Gold Bracelet and Brooch

The Pertabghar bracelet with green enamel panels, gold foliate animal motifs, gold wirework and bead details, and a similar brooch with seed pearls

• Bracelet length 7 3/4 inches
• Brooch length 1 7/8 inches (47 mm)
• Bracelet in 18k gold
• Brooch in 14k gold

With noticeable dents, solder repairs and patching to the gold on the reverse, otherwise the front in overall good condition.

Pertabghar is an Indian enamel technique where a thick layer of, hot, green paste was applied to a golden openworked surface and pressed in the openings. This type of decoration technique emerged in India around 1870.
