Lot 247: An Antique Pearl, Diamond and Gold Pendant/Brooch

The elaborate pendant/brooch featuring a button pearl measuring 8.4 mm, further decorated with split pearls, rose-cut and old mine-cut diamonds, scrolls and acanthus leaves, main brooch detachable from bail and garland festoon, mounted in 18k gold, mid 19th century, French assay marks, with fitted box, pearls not tested for natural origin

Weight: 27.8 grams
3 1/2 inches high, and 1 5/8 inches wide
Diamonds: 15 old mine and rose-cut diamonds for an approximate total weight of 2.90 carats (from 0.65ct to 0.03ct). I-J colour, VS1-I1 clarity
Pearls (smaller pearls measure 4.50mm), all of a medium to strong cream colour medium lustre, smooth surface, pink and green overtones. It is Dupuis' opinion that the smaller pearls are of natural origin
In good condition, with minor wear
