Lot 371: An Edwardian Sapphire, Diamond, Platinum and Yellow Gold Brooch/Pendant, circa 1910

The circular form with scalloped borders, centering an old European-cut diamond weighing approximately 2.35 carats, surrounded by six demi-lune sapphires weighing approximately 4.35 carats, further decorated with old pear-shaped diamonds and small diamonds weighing approximately 2.45 carats, mounted in platinum and 18k yellow gold

Weight: 11.2 grams
Principal diamond: J colour, I1 clarity
Sapphires: A medium tone of intense blue colour, good clarity, minor abrasions. It is Dupuis' opinion that there is no evidence of heat treatment. It is Dupuis' opinion that features found in the sapphires are consistent with features found in sapphires known to have originated in Sri Lanka.
Accent diamonds: G-H colour, SI-I1 clarity
Hinged pendant bail on the reverse
With a delicate platinum chain, 17 inches (not illustrated)
