The oval lavender sapphire measuring 10.40 mm by 7.31 mm by 5.22 mm and weighing 3.37 carats

This is a colour-change gem, showing a medium light tone of slightly greyish blue in daylight, and a medium light tone of pinkish violet in incandescent light. It is Dupuis' opinion that the gem shows no indications of heat treatment.
